Ministries Overview
From The Book of Common Prayer, p. 855:
Q. Who are the ministers of the Church?
A. The ministers of the Church are lay persons, bishops, priests, and deacons.
Q. What is the ministry of the laity?
A. The ministry of lay persons is to represent Christ and his Church; to bear witness to him wherever they may be and, according to the gifts given them, to carry on Christ’s work of reconciliation in the world; and to take their place in the life, worship, and governance of the Church.
The ministry of the church is carried out by all of its members, using their many and varied gifts and talents together, both within the church and out in the world. What are some of the ministries here at St. George’s?

So how do I get involved, you ask? Just step forward and let us know how you’d like to help. Not sure where to start? Talk to the priest, Bishop’s Warden, or any member and we’ll work with you to identify your gifts and help find ways that you can put them to joyful work!
Of course if you see something that needs doing and you have the heart and hands for the task, by all means please join in! All are welcome!
Then Jesus said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest" (Matthew 9:37-38).
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good (1 Corinthians 12:4-7).
