Who We Are

St. George's Episcopal Church is a mission of the Episcopal Diocese of Hawaii, founded in 1955 to reach out to and serve the military communities on the island of Oahu. Over 50 years later we are still serving the surrounding communities of Hickam Air Force Base, Naval Station Pearl Harbor, Camp Smith, Pearl City, Aiea, Ewa Beach, Honolulu, and beyond.

Although the majority of our members tend to be associated with the military (active, reserve, or retired), we welcome people from every walk of life! Many who come through our door are not Episcopalians, and some have not been to church in years. All are indeed welcome, no matter where you are on your faith journey.

We come together every Sunday morning to worship at 10 a.m. with a service of Holy Communion. Three weeks out of every month we offer children's church during the first part of the service. On the fourth Sunday of the month the children join us for the full service, with a sermon oriented more towards the young at heart. Please feel free to drop in and worship with us any Sunday morning, we'd love to see you!

St. George's is also home to a Christian preschool serving children from 2 1/2 years through 5 years old. The preschool seeks to give children a strong foundation in learning and in God's word.

On top of all that, St. George's is the Episcopal Church's memorial to Pearl Harbor. Part of the mission laid out by our founders was to never forget December 7, 1941 and all those who lost their lives that day. We are fortunate to have received artifacts from the USS Arizona, including two crosses made from hull metal and one of her ship's bells. We welcome visits call to the church for prayer or just to look around, but please be sure to ahead.
